Hi, can any help, I need to use M12 self drill screws to steel post, see detail from the SE. I've not been able to find M12 self drill screws! Has anyone dealt with this type of attachment before? Cheers Will

M12 seems a very thick diameter for self drilling screws. Could you ask him whether he actually means No.12 or No 14 screws which have a diameter of 6 or 7mm and are readily available in self tapping screws of the length you need. Other than that you would need to drill and tap the metal post and use ordinary bolts. Is there going to be a heavy loading on them.

thanks for your suggestion, think i'll ask the SE some questions as you have said. no load weight on these, just the timber frame walls, load weight is on the steels that run above.
