I am in the midst of removing lining paper which has been covered in emulsion. I have a wall paper remover type thing that produces steam, but it is not very effective.

Does anyone have any tips that might be able to help me in my hour of need??

Regards

If there is silk paint on the walls then its harder to remove, but if its matt it should come off quite easy.
I find the best way is to do score big crisscrosses on the paper, but not so deep where it it goes right thru onto the wall.
The steam will get under these crisscrosses and make it easier to come off.

Once the steamer gets going, dont leave it on the one place too long, as it could blow the plaster underneath, you will know when you hear a plop lol.

Try adding a bit of fabric conditioner into your water, not only will it make it easier to come off, but you will get a lovely smell. ( a female thing) ;)
