To RCD or Not to RCD

Should a shaving point in the bathroom be on it's own circuit, and should it be on an RCD?

A shaving point should be low voltage therefore no, doesn't have to be.
 
That would be low as in 240V low, I take it. They include isolating transformers and double insulation and stuff, but it is still 240V putput. Just that it should be ok if you stick your finger in the plug. (apart from it getting stuck)
 
because shaver sockets have isolating transformers (well those that don't shouldn't be installed in bathrooms) a rcd will provide no protection to stuff plugged into the shaver socket

normal practice is either directly off the lighting cuircuit or on a FCU from the ring
