I am in two minds about reinforcing the concrete slab I intend to pour in the coming weeks.
We just dug up the old slab, which was about 130mm thick - it was for a pre-fab garage, and had no reinforcement. The slab's been sitting there for 30+ years and has not a single crack in it. The ground on which is was laid is very stable.
Now, I intend to pour a new slab that'll be around 150mm, with about 150mm of hard core under it. I was initially intent on adding some steel rebar, but am now reconsidering. I will be using it for cars, and other such machinary. It'll be made about of dense blocks as opposed to pre-fab cement sheets.
What would you guys advise ?
