The toilet is filling very slowly so time to replace the inlet valve. I haven't done this job before so would appreciate confirmation the part I am intending to buy from Screwfix is the right part.

Picture 1 shows the current (faulty) bottom-entry inlet valve on the right. Picture 2 is Screwfix's FluidMaster Bottom-Entry Brass Shank Fill Valve 1/2". This looks like a good visual match to the existing valve and should fit my cistern, which has a depth of about 12 inches. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the mention of '1/2"'. I'm not sure what this refers to. The external diameter of the plastic thread at the bottom (brass on the replacement) is 20mm.

Can someone confirm this is the right part?

Yes it is. The half inch refers to the BSP thread of the valve ,nothing to do with diameter

All you need is a new inlet valve washer / diaphragm....

With the water OFF to the cistern
Unscrew the nut to the left of the grey adjuster for the float.
Remove old, fit a new one.
Screw back the nut and ensure its all assembled right.

Looks like a Siamp fill valve to me https://www.fixthebog.uk/siamp-comp...TeUJOkZ1USaLLcWPRnLzTQF42qQvT6iRoCXqYQAvD_BwE

The diaphragm is ... https://www.fixthebog.uk/1-x-siamp-...er-95-95l-99t-99b-99-duravit-laufen-34951307/

Screwfix sell an overpriced pattern part to fit.

Thanks Rodders53. I've bought the new valve now but I'll attempt to repair the old one as per your instructions and keep it as a spare.
