toilet cistern won't stop filling

hi,
i flush the loo and all seems ok,then a a minute or so later the loo cistern won,t stop filling and the toilet keeps running. Any ideas ? cheers Dave

check the ballvalve and the float .
if its free and the float does replace the valve
