Hi

Need some advise with fitting a toilet in.

The soil pipe is coming up from the floor joist and was at a slight angle (leaning back). Therfore i introduced a flexi pipe which gives help to get a straight angle to plumb into the toilet.

This allows me to push the toilet right up against the wall.

But now I face another problem.
When tiling It occurred to me that that i wouldn't be able to have a water tight seal aound the waste and now don't know how best to tackle it. Note, I have a flexible soil coming through the boards.

Has anyone come across this situation and what would you advise is best to overcome this?

Extend the soil pipe to FFL then pan connector into the soil pipe

Hi

Thanks all.

I've attached some pictures. I think I may be ok.
Thinking of pushing the flexi right back against the wall and tiling around as close as possible. And then try silicone to try and get a good seal.
I doubt I would be able to pull the flexi to extend out to the pan outlet. So would need to source some sort of "straight extension" from the pan outlet to the flexi

But not sure what lengths are available to buy. It can't be too long..

And how are you going to stick your bits of tile over the hole? I would have used rigid pipe up to and through the floor, but in either case you need noggins running from the joist in view to the one under the pan, tiight to the pipe. Then two pieces of ply or flooring chipboard should be cut and inserted in the hole with a tight fit to the pipe (max gap 3mm?). The join between the pieces should be parallel to the joists. This then will be a rigid base for the tiles to sit on. Pack out the gaps around the pipes with foam. This is to stop your silicone or your grouting dropping down any gap.

Thanks again Frank.
My toilet cistern sits on the pan. So when cistern is right against the wall the pan needs to be too. I'm not sure if that could be altered?

The problem I found with the rigid pan connecter was that I couldn't push the toilet tight back because because of the joist you see in the pic.
With this flexible the connected head can a day does bend enough to push it right back.

Hi

Can I use this to connecting the vertical flexi pan connecter coming through the floor?

Is it as simple as connecting this to the pan horizontally then pushing it to the flexi or do I need some 110mm pipe connected to the end of this connector and then pushed into flexible pan connecter?

Thanks again for the help here

Have a look at a swan neck. Fits between pan horizontal and vertical soil. Do you have to use the flexi or is the top of the soil near enough to fit a connector ?

Hi,

I guess if I could use to connectors one (vertical) from the soil to up and the another horizontal from the pan to the connector horizontal I may just be ok hopefully.

Do you know if the way I mentioned in my previous post is correct way of joining the two connectors?

The connector has an external rubber seal to go into the soil pipe and an internal seal to receive the pan outlet or ( extension).
There is also a space saver connector that may be even more help than a swan neck.
