hi guys - i just replace the flow pipe to my upstairs toilet cos the old one had a crack in it with this one http://www.screwfix.com/p/fluidmaster-flush-pipe-12-x-8/67559 , i also replaced the rubber pipe connector with this one here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INTERNAL-...64027?pt=UK_HG_Toilets_RL&hash=item2ec70c3e7b yet now when i flush the toilet, it flushes slowly, there isnt as much force of the water as with the old one..why is that ?..i did cut the flow pipe to the same length as the old one..

Never fit a flushpipe with a sharp, knuckle elbow, it restricts the flow - as you've found out. It should have a slow bend:

Cut this to size:

If the flush pipe is pushed too far through the pan connector, it can impinge on the ceramic.....just try pulling it back a little?
John :)

correct burnerman, the pipe was pushed in too far, now its working fine, trouble now is the bloody thing is weeping from the nut that connects the flow pipe to the cistern undeside, looks like the rubber washer that fits between the the syphon and the cistern has persished, tigtened the nut a bit more but still leaks slightly, removed the washer and it seems to be warped around the edges, local plumbers merchants havnt got that rubber washer, tried to make me buy a complete unit..will keep hunting..i think its a statndard 68mm Outside Diameter and 46mm Internal diameter rubber washer, but try and find one lol..l...

Chances are when you pulled the pipe out a little the downpipe section isn't sitting vertical now but angled slightly. If so, take a little off the end of the horizontal section that enters the pan.
If still leaking and you can't find a new rubber seal then a little silicone will probably take up the slack.
