My toilet has just developed a leak at the isolated valve, which I installed a new one, and it was still leaking, on further examination I noticed the plastic thread coming out of the bottom of the cistern was split above the washer of the isolated, so I guess that’s why it still leaking out the top of isolated.
My question is can I remove the innards of toilet and replace with any model or does it have to be the same as already installed, thank you

Usually any, but can depend on certain factors, like the size of the float, and thread size (some are 3/8”).
