Hi all, my toilet seat in my rented house is really loose. I can't get access to the underneath and after viewing some forums posts some people are saying you can access from the top.

The problem is, I can't find images of my toilet anywhere and my fixings are different. See images below.

Can I pull this off and tighten or am I screwed?

Hard to make out from your photos quite what is what, can you take a picture showing both hinges with the lid up and then with the seat up viewed from the front?
As it is rented it might be better to just contact the landlord and say you are worried it will break if not re-fixed.

They will be a way to take it off. Either a button or some hidden grub screws but your picture is not the best so cant really help you

I've posted pictures above this comment

I would think there should be a screw or push button in the hole to release the pivot pin in the hinge.

No screw or push button that I can see. That little plastic piece inside doesn't seem to do anything either.

Taken a couple of more pictures. The toilet isn't completely up against the wall but there is no way I can get my arm inside

Is that. A clip in the groove that might release the pin?

Pretty sure that insert comes out but as you say plastic is easy to break and gets brittle with age.
You don't say if you are the tenant or landlord. If you are a tenant leave it alone and contact the landlord or agent.
If you are the landlord two courses open to you, call a plumber, or buy a new top fix seat from B&Q take it with you but leave it sealed up so it can be returned. Get some pointed pliers and with a small mirror see if the inner bit can be pulled out it might need the clip pushed up or down. Alternatively it may be some sort of bayonet fixing. If it ends up busted a quick nip out to the car and produce the new one:)!
