Toilet seat replacement help!

Hi there,

I am struggling to work out how remove the fittings of an old toilet seat to replace with a new one.

I've attached a picture, hope you can help!

I also have an Allen key which fits in those side holes, have unscrewed them and not sure what it does as it doesn't seem to loosen them.

There is normally a expanding plug in the hole that expands when you tighten a screw. Need to find the screw and undo it.

Thinking you ought to tighten the screws before somebody sits on the pan.

Do those support pins not just unscrew leaving you with the plugs in the holes, then just push them through if they can't be re-used.

Think they are blind holes.
