I want to install an old tin lined oak toilet tank. How do I avoid the condensation from damaging the oak?

How do you Know it will condense up any way?
It may not, as the oak will give the tank a degree of insulation.
If it does, I suggest you give the tank a coat of furniture wax. This will dispel any water and prevent the oak from soaking it up.
If the outside of the tank is colder than the surrounding ambient air temperature - the air WILL condense on the surface.

I have read about this before, and one suggestion was to line the cistern with polystyrene panels in order to insulate the cold water form the outside air temperature. Obviously they have to be glued in place !

I am pretty sure it will condense as the water is coming out of a well at 55 degrees. Thanks for the response.

I have a well at my house and in the hot weather my toilets sweat. I purchased the styrofoam type walls to put into my toilets are these good? Will they do the job?
Also I have 3 toilets one of them is a TOTO toilet and the inside of the tank has kind of a wavy back and the styrofoam wouldn't work nor would it fit with this any suggestions?
