...so to speak.
Just replaced the flush on our toilet. All looks good, however on flushing there's a small amount of water creeping from the bottom of the cistern onto the body of the loo itself. When replacing the flush mechanism there was a sort of rubber foam washer/seal where the cistern made contact with the loo. (other seals in the actual flush mechanism etc, but there's a big hole into which the flush bit drops when the cistern is in place - it's sealing here to make a snug joint I guess. Fairly big - 4-5" across or so?)
It looked as though it had been off-centre previously so was squashed out of shape etc, I'm guessing this may be the problem - not a perfect seal on replacing the cistern so a little bit of water escaping on flush. Not happening when the loo isn't flushed so I guess it's not an overflow issue etc.
So, to my novice brain, this washer/seal/disc thing needs replacing? Is there a specific name for this thing and can I get it from most plumbing/DIY places? A name would help in itself..would certainly have cut this post down by about 2000 characters if I'd known the name of this
