Hi,

I have a 6 year old toilet. Recently it has started not to flush - the water just keeps flowing through to the bowl.

The problem i have is that the cistern is in-built into the panel behind. To flush uses push button. I can access to turn the water off and see the top of the float (lifting if up manually doesn't stop the flow).

Any ideas on how best to get a better idea of where the problem is ?

Many thanks.

You have to get in and check it , it can only be 2 things the fill valve is not closing or the syphon is faulty and not reseating properly.
Turn water off if it stops flowing into bowl and cistern stays full its the fill valve if the cistern empties completly then its the syphon

If it was the inlet valve not closing it would still flush, so it sounds like the syphon not reseating. ;)
