My cistern has a Torbeck bottom entry valve (2005 vintage, doesn't look easily height adjustable). Lately it's become slow and noisy when filling.
I took it apart, cleaned (the internal blue filter was quite dirty), and reassembled it this morning, to no avail.
What happens is that, initially, the water flows as expected, but then the diaphragm washer appears to trip too early, and water then comes out the little hole which the float arm seals when full. It does, eventually, fill the cistern and stop.
Any point in trying spares (eg new diaphragm washer) or anything else remedial, or should I just dive in for a replacement filler valve?
Thanks!
