On the subject of Torbecks in a recent post. I had one a couple of weeks ago where a wc was fitted next to a basin.
It wouldn't let any water into the cistern until I opened the cold basin tap. Turn the tap off and the cistern would stop filling.
Never came across it before but I took it apart cleaned it out even though it didnt look dirty and put it back together. Dunno WTF I did right but it worked perfectly after that.
My theory is that either there was some sort of airlock or the problem was caused by debris in the valve.
