Hi, I'm felting a roof with torch-on felt. I've fixed 2 layers, done the verges and drips and am about to lay the green cap layer. My question is can anyone experienced at this give any advice on the best way to physically do this to achieve a good clean finish. Before, I've layed out the lengh of felt then rolled back one side to the centre and started there, heated about 6 inches or so then lifted the roll over in order to dress it and secure the edges, then repeating. Doing it this way just seems so laborious and I can't help thinking there must be an easier way. I should add that I'm working alone. Any hints anyone?

Rol lit onto a bit of drainpipe, preferably cast iron then torch just infront rolling it out with your foot as you go.
the capping sheet for the verges usually goes over the main deck capping
