Touching up Matt paint ends up glossy?!

Hi.

New here so hello to everyone. Hopefully someone can guide me on this paint issue, which I've googled, but not found a sound solution. I've touched up the walls on the landing and stairs, using Dulux easy care white mist, due to a few light scrapes etc. However, as can be seen in the picture, despite using the same paint, it's left a ln annoying 'sheen' finish, instead of a Matt colour, which can be seen clearly in the lighting, where it's reflecting the light far more than the original paint. I stirred it, applied with a roller...any thoughts? Ignore the blue tape.

Did you use the same application tool? If the walls were done with a roller and the touch up with a brush the different texture will show up.

As per my description, I used a roller, same as when the job was originally done. Only time I use a brush is for cutting in, so it's a mystery....

Is it the same tin? Some paints suffer from "flashing" or "halo effect" worse than others. Try a search on those terms, sadly the usual answer is to repaint the complete wall.

Wow, same time tin. It's mad that for a couple of small marks you end up having to paint a whole stairs wall. In future ill settle for leaving the marks on the wall cheers anyway

Use a foam roller.
When you draw a sun you make sun beams. Do that pattern with roller. Short and long strokes.
