Hi All,

I was looking at installing a porch at my property. Ideally was looking at getting a ‘frameless’ look using 10mm toughened glass. The porch itself is structurally ‘there’ so a case of enclosing it (please see the image below)

I’ve looked at getting a couple of quotes for getting this professionally done and they’ve come in at around £5k which seems a little excessive for what needs doing.

The structure consists of two ‘sides’ that would need glazing, a side panel 2150(h)* 950(w) and the front, which is 2150* 1450, which would need a door.

The only real concern I think I would have is the RSJ along the top, and possibly the need to attach something to this (it appears to be rather strong for its needs though).

Is there anything I am missing here? Guessing the front panel with the door could require three glass panels (one of which would be the door).

Sounds about right for a frame-less system.
You could probably get a thin aluminum frame system like Smarts heritage for around £3-4k
