Towel radiator

Hi guys,
I have a towel radiator in the bathroom and want to take it off for decorating. It has the chrome valves but no indications on them which we to turn them. I assume that they both turn the same way to close off. They come out are horizontal like the bars of the radiator. Do I turn them towards the wall to turn off

Turn the valves clockwise to shut them off.

Tcc heating that's what I tell my customers I got told that in school and it's stuck with me ever since

Yep same here. Its always stuck with me. Although you have to be careful, it works with water however it doesnt work with regulators on lpg gas bottles!!!

I assume when you say lefty loosey that's if I am look in at the valve side one obviously the left hand valve is the opposite to the right
