Dear all,

I have an electric towel rail which is activated using a switch which is in the hallway. I attach a photo of the switch which is on the left. I would like the ability to only turn on the rail for say 1 hour or 2 hours, then for it to turn back off.

Does anyone know a good way of achieving this?

Thanks for any help in advance

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I want to place it instead. Its in an area which isn't used so won't be awkward.

Thanks for the link, do these just replace the front of the switch then? Sorry, I am not electrically literate!

Is that switch straight off the socket to the right? If so it is wrong and should be a switched FCU. The towel rail should still have an FCU with the timer if it is off the socket circuit.

To match that requirement i have a preference for the timeguard boost switches. Simple to install and use and means you have to press the switch every time you want a boost of heat. And then it automatically counts down.

Note that I would get the one with the fuse in as it 'looks' as if you are missing a fuse between the Socket (where I presume the wire is going from) and the tower rail. But you may have a fuse at the towel rail.
