Toyota TVSS indicator

Just got a text from a mate saying his TVSS indicator light is on in his 1998 Avensis. He's asking what it is. I said look in handbook. "I've done that" he said, but the handbook only says that it's the TVSS indicator.
Does anybody know what it is?

His security system is showing a fault, aside from that i'm precisely no help at all.

Might be the batteries in his keys going low, or an attempted break in.

'98 -'01 Avensis alarms are a pain in the butt....

I have the same problem..................
I've disconnected the TVSS. The alarm still works for the doors etc.
Going to dealership to find out more.

That fault cleared on it's own, but I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

Are you sure the fault has cleared?
Mine would be fine for a couple of days and then start going off every few minutes.
Have fitted new TVSS (£50 from dealer) and everything is fine.
