Traffic info

I'm planning a trip down south this weekend and we're on tight schedule on the journey down. I know i can't 'factor in' volume and traffic and accidents on the day but does anyone know of a website where i may be able to check for planned roadworks and/or speed limit restrictions on motorways and trunk roads without visiting the individual council websites for each area we're travelling through?

Try the BBC traffic news, RAC and AA used to be good.

How far sarf you going, Derby to london is about 2.5 hours. And try to travel early morning, sat/sun afternoon/evenings are some of the busiest periods - avoid.

Unfortunately we've got to travel down on Friday evening so i know we're going to up against the traffic anyway - just want to avoid roadworks where obviously the congestion will be even worse!

Fortunately heading the opposite direction from the 'big smoke' - North Somerset!!
