Hi group.

I'm looking to sell a transit van I've had garaged for a while.
Don't have the need for it. I thought I would stick it on the end
of the drive with a for sale sign on and see what interest I get.
Only problem is I haven't got a clue what it might be worth now.
Spec is (ex british gas van)

Luton Transit 2.5D 1994. Rear roller door and side roller door.
3.5 tonne with twin rear axle. All tyres good. Wheel arches at front badly
rusted and would need replace/bodging. No current MOT. Mileage only
approx 120k. Rear tail lift 500kg. Rear tow bar. Cracked windscreen that would need replacing.
Drives and runs fine. Tail lift works but is rusty.

Check on ebay and see what they are selling for - they will be the real world prices. I wouldn't think it would be worth very much unless someone happens to be looking for that particular vehicle.

If you can't find any for sale list it on ebay or get someone else to do it for you and as I said it will make what someone is prepared to pay for it.

I'd risk £35 on an mot if that was mine, could be a good investment.

Unfortunately an MOT for a van like that costs about £100.
Then there are retest fees . No cheapo car mots for a bigger
van like this one.
Last time it cost me £1000 to get it through the MOT.
Probably as much as the van was worth at the time.
Still a lovely unpowered van to drive. My LDV pilot is pants by comparison.

Would you consider a camper conversion? Those Transits make a lovely camper van. Easily sleep two in the luton?
