Are these covered by regs as I am sure I heard that all new windows should have vents but when I ordered a new kitchen window it came without vents?

All new builds yes, but existing only have to have them if the old coming out had them.

Check but I believe that "new builds" also includes any new extension if that's your case. Many window companies don't fit them as standard but they should have asked if you wanted them; you can retro-fit.

The same applies to fire escape windows but these are always a good idea if you can accomodate them.

I'm afraid that if you did not specify trickles then they will not fit them, as this is an added cost.

I've done my bit for energy efficiency. Triple glazing and cavity wall. On the downside I go to work in a 5litre V10, LOL
