I think you need to re-post it in the pulling teeth section. Norcon summed it all up in your original thread.

You're question is abit much for a DIY forum, get yourself some span tables which have trimmer joists info in them, or talk to a structural engineer.

Whilst you've clearly spent a long time and much effort has gone in to preparing your post (which is commendable), most people really haven't got time or inclination to read and digest it the way its been written. At the very least the timber sizes should written on the drawing and indicate whats existing and whats proposed rather than separating the drawing from the text, then clearly write your questions. Try and write a simplified version, 3 people have suggested you do this now (albeit in a roundabout way) the regulars on here (who's time is precious and given up for free) will often cherry pick threads to answer so your thread needs to be simple to understand. I suspect that what you're asking is actually pretty straightforward but you've inadvertently overcomplicated your post. ;)

fm'st,

Thanks for the input, I'll redo the post when I get time. Never know quite how much info to provide, some like a lot and all up front while others don't

Regards,

duffsparky.
