Does anyone have any helpful comments on the use of a triple coil tank?

Boiler at the top, solar panels on the bottom and a middle coil in the central heating circuit to disspate extra heat when there is little hot water demand.

Thanks in anticipation.

i have no comments whatsoever

i thank you

how ya getting on with yer boiler choice?

(Considering the Atag as the compact shape will be an advantage and I have three approved installers email addresses. Need to understand the tanks set up so I can ask the right questions when one of them comes.)

okey cokey, dont see triple coil being much use

twin coil for solar and central heating, not gonna create that much excess(if any) that needs to be dumped

remember that what a triple coil dumps is actually a waste, its not something thats useable, ie its NOT a third circuit

unless you are using a solid fuel heat source, which is kind of uncontrollable

ie solid fuel or wood burning stove as main heat source

solar, then ch, as back up

I was thinking that there might be some way of dumping any excess heat into my hydro pool (6750litres) although excess heat in Scotland may be a rare event.

I'm hoping to put a heat exchanger on the pool and link it to the CH circuit so was thinking that the CH pump could run sending the heat from the hot water tank to the pool at times without the boiler having to fire.

Alternatively, I wondered if I could simply link the middle coil to the heat exchanger with a pump and thermostat and in effect, heat the pool indirectly from the DHW system.

AME, whatever boiler you go for, you will be better off fitting a low loss header ( google for more info ) and link all 3 circuits (ch/dhw/hydropool) using, in principle, an S Plan Plus system

i will try and post a link to a schematic of howit would look

I'm thinking now in terms of one of the ACV tank in tank systems with a lower coil for the solar to add in later. The outer pimary heating tank can be set up as a low loss header.

In a low loss header, why does the heated water not simply continue to go through the header and back to the boiler when a valve opens to allow it e.g to circulate through the radiators. It seems counter intuitive but I am sure there is a simple explanation.
