Hi

We have just moved into a house with a Triton Rapide 1 shower, we have tried to use it but water just streams out of the bottom of the unit.

Does anyone know if this is repairable? I realise this is an old unit, If it isn't repairable does anyone know a comparable unit to swap it for without too much fuss? We intend riping out the whole bathroom soon so don't want to spend too much getting this going again.

Thank you

water coming out of where ?
is it the plastic clear tube on the right handside of the tank ?

It sound like the safty valve as blown, has the shower hose been kinked ?
contact triton they will send you 2 in the post for a couple of pounds
they are quite easy to fit but turn the power off first

Thank you I don't know what's wrong to order the new part.

The water is coming out of the clear tube.

Excellect Buck51, thanks.

you need a new prd (pressure relief device)
you must locate what has activated it first before fitting the new one or it will blow straight away.
common cause collapsed inner shower hose or blocked shower head.

go on the link that crockett has supplied and you need ref 6.

Thank you all so much for your advice, you have saved me a fortune and a load of hassle.

Really appreciated.

A couple of the main reasons for the PRD's failing is a collapsed inner tube in the shower hose or folk getting a cheap replacement shower head from the likes of B&Q. The shower heads and hoses must always be replaced with ones from Triton even though they are 3 times as expensive as the B&Q ones. Electric showers need the correct water flow rate to work properly.
