I have recently had a new Triton T100 10.5kw installed. It works fine until someone puts on a cold tap etc and it then goes low pressure (cold) for a short while. when having a shower this is a bit annoying.
My mains pressure seems good here and I was expecting that a 10.5kw shower would work okay. I am now thinking otherwise.
Is there anything I can do apart from running it from the cold tank using a pump or tell everyone not to touch any of the taps/washing machine etc.
I am assuming that a lower kw shower would have been better. Will things improve in the winter?

speak for yourself.
thats what you get for not checking the mains pressure.

If i bothered 2 do bathrooms much i would, but generally dont do them anymore, but i bet there are more out there that do it than dont, my house has excellent mains pressure and still does it slightly when toilet flushed/ tap run , out of intrest what pressure do they usually require for it not to happen????

what are you calling excellent if yours slighly does it with a tap running ?

depends on the kw of the shower and what shower it is.

10.5 will useally play up if the pressure drops below 1.5bar.
8.5/7.5 can go as low as 0.7bar.

Out of interest do many domestic locations have pressure of 1.5bar. I always thought we were fine here and lots of powerful flow from the taps/hosepipe etc. I have notice that it goes into low pressure as the tap is opened or loo flushed. If you leave the tap on, it recovers so it is just the initial change in pressure.
Like others have said we will probably live with it. The take off for the shower is T'd off just before the cold tank ball valve in the loft. Would taking a feed from the mains nearer the ground floor improve the situation?

unfortunately neither was checked. Our builder installed it. I supplied it and now realise the error of my ways. Is it easy to check and what are the differences?

Well thats what will happen if you use a builder.

Even many people doing plumbing are not experienced enough to realise thats its essential to measure the dynamic flor rate first before considering fitting anything.

Two solutions, connect shower just after stopcock and restrict flow rate into WCs and other outlets.
