We have a Triton T300si that goes cold and has low pressure lights flashing. It used to be occasional but now almost permanent.
Tried cleaning the shower head but no improvement. Also taken shower head (and hose) off and still a problem -so assume it's not an outlet problem.
Tried to clean the inlet filter but it disintegrated on first touch (with a soft brush). BUT - cleared out remains of filter and tried the shower (may not be a clever thing to do but wanted to test) and still had the problem. So presume it wasn't blockage of filter since we still have a problem with NO filter!
Also managed to text resistance across solenoid valve and that seems to be OK.
Had originally looked at replacing Solenoid valve since it seems to be a source of problems and the whole part also contains the inlet filter. But seeing as it now doesn't seem to be the filter or the valve, that doesn't seem worth it.
Feel we may have poor water pressure into the house but we have a second triton electric shower on 2nd floor (faulty one is on first) that requires the same minimum pressure (1bar) and it's working OK. And have done a test on water flow from our ground floor tap and it's within Severn Trent's test of being OK (litre bottle filled in under 7 seconds). And we haven't noticed a deterioration in apparent pressure of water coming out of taps generally (shower been in for 6 years and problems less than a year old).
Triton offer to send a service engineer out to us for a 'fixed fee' (payable up front) but I'm wary of that in case they can't fix it or find a loophole (it was fitted by a professional but if it wasn't fitted according to triton instructions they have a get out - and they could easily claim it wasn't!) to say it's not their fault and so we're no further on but out of pocket (£150). But if this is best option, we'll do it.
Have not yet tried a local plumber because I'm unsure if all plumbers know the inner workings of all showers? Again, happy to do this so long as we don't just pay a call out charge which gets us nowhere.
Any advice on other things to test, or what the fault may actually be would be appreciated. Or have we done all we could and now need the professionals?
And any suggestions on Triton engineer vs local plumber?
Many thanks!
