Hi Folks,

As I have mentioned i am currently making a tropical fish house. Essentially a large room (my Garage) full of fish tanks and of course.. fish. As these tanks are heated to 78 degrees F there can be a lot of condensation even though the tanks are all covered.

Naturally the elecrics are a concern as they are sensitive to water haha.

I am trying to get a pet shop license and to get it i need a safety certificate from an NICEIC approved electrician. As i am doing the work myself i am looking for any guidance on how best ot get to the point where a contractor can simply some and sign it off for me.

Thanks,
Rob

good luck then.

you are in effect asking for som one to sign for something they never did.

first you need to find out if they wan't an EIC (implying that a qualified electrician installed it though some elecricans will do them for other peoples installation work they aren't really meant to) or just a PIR (which says that said electrician inspected an existing install)

Hi,

Ah ok. They just said that they needed the safety certificate so i will call them tomorrow to find out the finer details. Maybe it is just a test they want or something. To ensure it is up to scratch.

I think for one i will need to replace my sockets with those water proof ones. They are fine for my use but dont thik they would pas a safety test with all the water around. I did put them just below ceiling height... way above any of the tanks but still..
