Trump Lawyer Sydney Powell is using the defence that her lies were so egregious that no reasonable person would accept them.

On this forum alone there are loads of RWR who ate those lies up for breakfast, lunch and dinner. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I suppose it goes like this.

Make up a huge lie. Repeat it often. RWR will believe its true. If you are caught out just say everyone knew it was a lie in the first place.

Now I wonder where that's been tried before? :LOL:

Her defence is that whatever she says is protected under first amendment rights.

Until telling and spreading lies in public has a cost people will be confused between what is the truth and what is fact and thus make decisions and form opinions on false premises and data.

You can be a politician or public figure of any hue but telling lies need to have consequences.

I want all professionals to be free from legal redress for lying. Imagine your doctor lying about your health or your accountant lying about your tax liabilities or the Engineer lying about how safe the foundations are.

Yet Politicians who hold far more influence over us are free from such restrictions.

It's a flimsy defence to say it's protected under the first amendment: you cannot repeat false claims about the holocaust being fake, for instance, or make derogatory racist remarks without censure.
She's clearly out of her tiny mind on bullshit.
