I have a 6 radiator zone and an underfloor zone both controlled by Honeywell Tr4 wireless stats with Bdr91 receiver relays.
I have fitted 6 smart Trv valves to the radiators and connected the Bdr91 A & B relay wires to a wifi relay which gets switch on commands from the Trv,s every 5 minutes. I have left the L & N supply connected to the Bdr91. When each Trv reaches target temperature it sends an off command to the relay. When the last valve turns off the boiler no longer fires until the wifi relay is switched on again by a trv. This works really well but in order to get my worcester bosch oil boiler to fire up at all i have to have the Tr4 stat set at 30C
all the time. I assume this is because the Tr4 stat must provide a live feed to the zone valve from the Bdr91 relay
I am not a heating engineer and i did not want to disturb or change the wiring to any great degree through lack of knowledge.
My question is, is there any harm in leaving the stat requesting heat 24/7 I do not want to burn out a zone valve or do any other damage.
i have monitored things carefully and as far as i can see the zone valve does not kick in when the stat is turned up high, it appears to kick in when the boiler fires?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
