I mentioned this to my plumber last time he was here but he insinuated that it was impossible and I must be imagining things - but I'm not.
I have an Idean Elan2 boiler and an open loop system (I think thats the phrase - sorry if wrong) Its really basic but so far reliable.
My plumber told me that if I turned this valve in my airing cupboard under the circlator then this would turn off all my radiators and allow only hot water. After doing this I noticed the spare room radiator seemed to come on regardless, but only occasionally.
I turned the valve back on as I was worried that if it didn't do what it was supposed to do then it would be best left on and I would turn all the TRVs off instead. I then started to notice, again only occasionally, that the spare room radiator kept coming on (same one that came on before) and the TRV would turn round from 0 to 4 by istself which is where the little grey stopper is if you know what I mean.
Please could someone explain why this is happening, my plumber's great and I really trust him but if he doesn't know, I'm reluctant to go elsewhere.
