Nasty stuff is taking over the lawn and is spreading into the flowerbeds as well. Can't figure out what it is from a Google search so far..

already checked on that site but I can't see one similar. It doesn't flower either.
Hopefully a close up will help...

Looks like chic weed to me.

Use glyphosate weed killer (trade name Round-up, Clinic etc) on the border.

Do not use on the grass it will kill it.

Just cut the grass tight, its a soft weed so easily killed, even with a weed hoe. Probably a damp spot?

Well that had passed me by.

Score one for the agrochemical industries successfully lobbying to make their far more expensive and far less effective products the only ones the law allows.

You could almost be called cynical there sheddy :D

BAS cynical - perish the thought !
He was right though, Sodium Chlorate would kill it - he never said it was legal !

People fail to realise the massive cost to councils and water authorities caused by people using pesticides incorrectly. Idiots thinking that adding 10 times the dose will make it better then pouring the end of a bottle of concentrate round-up into the drain.

Lots of chemicals like sodium chlorate were very effective but were also very effective at percolating into groundwater and into water for treatment.

The extra millions spent cleansing water of these type of products is paid for by guess who....
