Hi all?
I'm looking to buy a few hundred LBC Tudor bricks to match in with existing brickwork I want to add to.
I've noticed that Ibstock do Tudors and looking at website pictures they look the same, kind of.
Does anybody know if Ibstock Tudors are a good match for LBC Tudors? The bricks I buy will be lain on top of the LBC bricks so if they are significantly different it might show like a stripe. I'm asking as the Ibstock bricks are easier to get and a good bit cheaper.
Thanks.

Theres no guarantee even new LBC brick will match perfectly, have used Ibstock copies and they looked ok,any new brickwork will stand out for a while till weathered.
To help it to blend in you could pressure wash existing brickwork, but give it a bit of time first.

I've used two variants (copies) of the Tudor Red, both were ok but one was more ok than t'uther - but don't remember either!

You are going to get a stark contrast even if you used the exact same brick the origfinal was built from. The trick is getting the mortar bang on too.

My late 60s house is built from imperial LBC Tudors and I recently had the attached garage roof raised by three bricks. Used metric LBC bricks and it looks ok for a match. We got the mortar a good match so like you said that helped a lot.
I'm raising dwarf walls up a few courses, the bricks in those walls were laid about 15 years ago so not too old.
I wondered if ibstock Tudors were pretty much exact copies of the LBC ones if they were I'd have used them. But if they are just a facing brick that ibstock called Tudor and aren't the same I think I'd better stick to the LBC's.
