Hi
I'm installing a vent for a tumble dryer which arrives next week. I've measured up the location for the hole through the external wall according to the installation guide for the dryer. It recommends the vent path should be straight and at 92mm centre from the internal floor.
Unfortunately this means the hole through the wall will span the damp proof course. Is this likely to cause a problem?
I'm thinking not, since I'm installing a proper plastic tube all the way through which isn't going to allow the damp to rise through it.
Is it better to have the vent hole above the DPC and suffer the degraded performance of the dryer or is the DPC not likely to be an issue?
Thanks
Chas
