We've recently moved to a house where the tumble dryer now sits in the garage. There is no hole in the wall. I've got 2 choices to run the vent hose -either through a cat flap or up the wall and outside between the roof and top of the wall.

Not too sure what the maximum length of hose I should run?

The other problem I'm getting is that the hose keeps breaking between the metal wire (both via cat flap or up the wall) every time it is used. Is there a hose available which does not break every time the tumble dryer is used or can anyone suggest any other solution?

Any advice much appreciated.

You should buy a Tumble dryer condensor box (B&Q online £10.99) this sits besides the dryer and the hose connects on the top of it and negate's the need to ever have to place the hose out of a window .

Don't run it up the wall you will get condensation running back into the machine. If you cannot fit a proper vent then put it through the cat flap but wrap duct tape around the hose to reinforce it where it passes through the flap.
