Lo guys, apologies if this is in incorrect forum, but it didnt seem to be directly a building or appliance question.

Can anyone advise on the best way to cut a 4" wide hole in a wall to allow for a tumble dryer vent?

i.e what tools I may need, I've heard of diamond core cutters, is this the thing to hire? Also is there any postion in relation to the brick work that is best? Should I try to make the centre of the hole in the mortar so it takes an even amount out of all surround bricks or doesnt it really matter?

Any advice, gratefully appreciated.

Thanks again

Thanks kev, one question cleared up. :D For the other, hiring a core cutter the best way to go?

Just wanted to finish off the thread. Hired a core cutter from local plant hire place. £20 inc vat for the day, job took me literally 10 minutes, and an absolutely perfect 4" wide hole appeared. A simple job, but well done I reckon.

Thanks to kev for his advice :D

Cheers
