Could someone tell me the correct procedure related to gas appliances when working on roofs.

I seem to remember that if people are working on roofs and a gas fire is installed, the gas appliance must be isolated and a gas certificate issued to say the gas fire has been islated?

Can anyone tell me what this certification is called or is it simply a re-issues of a cp1?

Thanks

No need unless you're working on the chimney, good idea to get it switched off when near the fumes but no need for capping/CP12.

If your removing the ridge tile that's connected to Selkirk flue serving a live fire you need a Gas Safe engineer to disconnect, reconnect and smoke test.

Regardless, for ultimate safety its always better to turn off the gas at the meter if working on a roof. Or anywhere else for that matter!

Anyone can do that!

If your on about work done on the chimney then yes fire needs to come out afterwards to be checked and common sense would say it cant be used during but i cant think of ever seeing it written down ever.

but if just general roof work no need for it to be off or checked afterwards
