Background:
Two lights in kitchen when we switch one of them off
(Fluorescent striplight) it will sometimes trip the RCD, ironically the RCD
just isolates the sockets around the home so the lights remain Live.
Tried a different light switch but it didn't help.
At the switch the the cable feeding the striplight is single core plus earth
so there is a common link cable at back of switch
Then in the ceiling space is a link cable that joins the earths and the
neutral only between the two light fittings
Is that pretty much common practice?
If its worth me replacing the striplight fitting then I will do that myself, but if there is anything setting off alarm bells about the wiring then I will get the electrician in.
