TV fixing advice please

I have a LCD tv 38inch i think (not my tv so cant be certain) that needs to be wall mounted on to a brick party wall which i think is single skin. Will 2 1/2 inch screws and plugs be ok or should i use 3 inch? i have mounted things on walls befour, just not a tv. so any advice on this would be welcome thanks

Single skin party wall!?

Whenever I've hung TV brackets I wont compromise and nothing less than M10 anchors will do for me. Better to be slightly overkill when dealing with expensive Telly's!
