I desperately want to wall-mount a TV but have little space.

Perhaps it is impossible, but I wonder if you could please offer your suggestions.

The room is a dining room-cum- games room.

The only free wallspaces are:

Over the rad.
To the left (as you see it) of the worktop.
Over the desk.
A bit by the door.

I have discounted the first and last options.

The desk has a PC on it so that is not best either.

However, that only leaves the small corner area between the pillar and the curtain.

Diagonally between the edge of the curtain and the corner of the pillar measures only 380.

The TV, however is a 40" Sammy measuring 930 x 540.

Can this magic trick be pulled off? If so, where and how?

(It was Secure in the Games Room with the TV bracket.....;))

Thanks, guys!

Does the TV have the ability to be used as a computor monitor ?

If yes then teaplce the PC monitor with the TV. ( is it unlikely you would need TV and PC at the same time )

Those are both great ideas.

But I'm struggling to see how I could position the TV where it would not be in the way of anyone/ thing.

Replacing the monitor with the TV is an excellent space-saving solution, but sometimes we have other kids round and they want to play on both the X-box/ Wii at the same time as the PC.

Personally, I'd ditch the tall wall unit, and put the tv there.
Also, I wouldn't mount it too high up, as prolonged watching will cause neck strain (especially for those who are not as tall I.e. the kids)

Will give that some thought.

I have thought of rearranging the room altogether:

The "half" of the room with the table in at the moment is shorter than the other "half".

So I was thinking of moving the table into the other "half", along with the rad under the side window.

Then use the tall wall unit as a room divider (leaving the gap opposite the hall door), with the front facing the patio door.

Get rid of the tall sideboard.

Put the worktop where the rad is now.

Put the desk on the opposite wall, where the tall sideboard is now.

Would it look closed up and claustrophobic with the furniture dividing the room?

Throw out all the units and the table & chairs, hang a huge screen on the R/H wall and stick a LaZboy armchair in the middle. :D

That may be your opinion, but where (like in my case) there is no room to put them elsewhere, it is a boon to wall mount.

I meant to add:
Only those that buy ridiculously sized TV's and insist on leaving their curtains open at night.
