Two 'draining' taps outside - why two?

I believe I just drained my central heating system by use of the outside LEFT tap.

What does the right one do? I briefly turned it on and the water came out with more force.

No, these are definitely draining taps.

I did the same when I replumbed my heating. How else could you fully drain the flow and return?

It's no big deal just drain them both. Two is better than one or so they say. Always check if the washers need replacing. And fill that gap around the pipes.

Our property has two, and when I moved some radiators a few years ago I drained both - but didn't really know what I was draining - LOL

That is a rather sweeping statement, with a large possibility of being simply wrong. The OP needs to trace what the the drains are designed to drain, rather than guess - maybe label them for the next time.
