two ovens with 10mm cable

We've ripped out our old kitchen and have 2 electric ovens to install. I know how to wire up a single oven but am unsure what's best to do with 2.
We've laid a 10mm cable for the supply under the floor. Each oven is 3.5kW. Can we just use one switched cooker unit above the worktop for both or would we be better with 2 etc ?

Two switches would be better, but the problem you will have whatever you do is how to get 2 x 10mm² cables into the accessories. If you use 2 switches then the first one will have to have 2 x 10mm² in the supply terminals, if you use 1 switch then you'll either have to have 2 x 10mm² in the load side, or at the outlet plate you'll have to connect 2 x 10mm² cables from the ovens.

Also, as each oven is 3.5kW, have the terminals been designed to accept 10mm² cores? This size would not be expected for a load like that, and so they might not be big enough.

You might find that you have to take the 10mm² cable to a small CU, with 2 x 16/20A MCBs supplying each oven through 2.5mm² or 4mm² cables.

Could you not use 1 main ccu and connect load with 2x 6mm cables on condition either oven is within 2 meters of ccu. Back this with a 32amp breaker at cu as your max demand will not exceed 30amps.

you can but:

1: getting 2x6mm in is still going to be a pita
2: you may have difficulty terminating 6mm to the ovens
3: i'm always a bit uncomfotable at advising people to connect equipment on higher rated protection than it really needs to be on
