Two questions about a steading roof

Hi all,

I'm considering doing a farm steading conversion in Scotland. However, the building has an asbestos/concrete roof supported by steel.

Does anyone have any information on:

1. Building Regulations and Asbestos.
2. Steel roof supports for residential properties.

I'm almost certain that the asbestos has to be removed, but I'm not sure if the steel can be kept or not.

Any advice will be appreciated!
