Hi,
Earlier this year we had to shut off our main kitchen raiator as it had started leaking; the leak in question was from the bottom of the radiator, partly underneath and more or less in the middle. Inconvenient but still...
This week we've had another radiator go in exactly the same way, it has started leaking from the same place and the same way - ie bottom-middle of the radiator and spraying as if there was a a pin hole in the raditator itself.
Now, conventional wisdom would suggest something like the radiators in question being hit in a consistent manner such as being hit with the vaccuum cleaner but this doesn't seem likely given their position. The radiators look like they are of different manufacturers and of different ages so I'm ruling out a faulty batch from one manufacturer. Also, the central heating system runs around 2.0Bar so I'm also ruling out excessive pressure in the system.
The only thing that we can see that separates these two radiators from the other radiators in the house is their age; all of the radiators are > 15 years old. The radiators that have leaked are both less than 10 years old.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
Sadie.
