Two way dimmer

I want to replace an existing two way switch with a two-way dimmer. What behaviour should I expect when the other (non-dimmer) switch is toggled? Will the light come on at the dimmer setting, or will it be at full blast?

Dimmer should control light level whichever end you are as live passes through both switches onto lamp. So if dimmer control set so low light appears off then you will not be able to see if other two way switch is putting light on or off!
Therefore I would use dimmers only on one way switching.
