House will be scaffolded later this week and I should make a start fixing the rotten/shrunken felt at the eaves and verges. I plan to strip back about a metre or so and replace the felt, etc. The house is about 25 years old and has a ventilated cold roof with traditional roofing felt. I don't see any advantage in using a breathable or hi-tech membrane (I am only patching up) so should I just use some type 1F or would a modern replacement be better. I'm temped to use 1F but could be convinced otherwise. Roofing Superstore have this:
Easy Trim Non Breather Felt Membrane 120gsm - 1m x 45m Roll
"Non-Breather is a 2 layer, non breathable roof membrane. This lightweight but clean and durable product provides major benefits over traditional 1F bitumen based underlays and plastic under slating membranes. It is completely waterproof and has excellent nail tear resistance."
