Type of sealant and how to remove it

Evening,

I had to pull off some trim around our windows but the fitters have used a sealant I've not really come across and need to remove it.

Its hard, solid in fact and well stuck on, nothing seems to get it off. Is there anything I can do apart from hacking it off with a blade?

Type of super glue if my windows are anything to go by, I had to carefully pare it off with a sharp wood chisel.It did seem to etch into the plastic or was stuck so well it pulled the surface off in a few places
